Kathy Hyett, President


Kathy has been president of LICKS since 2017. She is also actively involved in the Long Beach Humane Society where she has been a volunteer for the past five years. Kathy spent her career as a public relations executive at leading firms in New York City. She lives in Long Beach with her three rescue cats, Michaela, Zola and Olivia. Pictured: Kathy's cat Olivia

Chris McGrath,Vice President


 Chris McGrath is a Registered Nurse by profession and has spent her career working in both acute and long-term care facilities. She is a volunteer at the Long Beach Humane Society. Chris lives in Rockaway Park with her rescue cats, Lulu and Arthur. Pictured: Chris' cat Lulu

Lorraine Woll, Secretary


  Lorraine has been actively involved with LICKS for more than 10 years, having served as the organization’s secretary for much of that time. She is an elementary school teacher and lives with her family in Lynbrook. The family includes four rescue cats, Pokey, Minnie, Junior, The Kitten, a rescue dog, Bonnie, and a rescue bunny, Ruby.  Pictured: Lorraine's cat Junior

Julie Kaplan, Treasurer


  Julie is an insurance broker by profession and a cat lover by choice. She grew up with dogs during her childhood, but as soon as she moved out on her own, she discovered the joy of being a cat parent. Julie is a huge advocate of spaying and neutering all pets and is proud to be associated with an organization devoted to this cause. Jen Gerakaris, Board Member


 Jen has been with LICKS since 2017. She is currently a supervisor at Sephora Collection at JC Penny. In addition, she is a staff member of a mobile veterinarian service that serves communities in Nassau and Suffolk counties. Jen is also a longstanding volunteer at the Long Beach Humane Society. Deborah James, Board Member


 Deborah James has been a LICKS board member since 2017. She has worked in the Animal Health industry for more than 37 years, both in animal hospitals as a technician, and as a sales account manager in distribution of veterinary products. After Hurricane Katrina, Deborah volunteered with Best Friends Animal Society to rescue displaced pets. She currently shares her home with her dog, Jax, and nine indoor cats. Alison Castardi, Board Member & Social Media Director


Alison joined LICKS in 2018 as a Board Member and Social Media Director. She also actively works with the local stray/feral cat population within our community on behalf of Lucky Black Cats of Mew York. Prior to that Alison worked in the publishing industry for 15 years before leaving the corporate world to devote her time to various projects and community service she feels passionately about. She currently resides in East Rockaway, NY with her four rescues, Bean, Baby, Cupcake & Cha-Cha. Pictured: Alison's cat Baby

 Our licensed Veterinarian and Veterinary Technician are on site all day  to monitor your kitty. Our staff has decades of experience with both pet and community cats. We make sure they get the best care possible  with us, and we know they get the best care possible when we send them  home to be with you.
